We are the Data Fiduciary for this information under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and we also follow the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it. Our Services are offered in India, and your personal information is stored and processed on servers located in India.

Personal Information Provided by You. We collect names; phone numbers; email addresses; mailing addresses; usernames; passwords; job titles; contact or authentication data; and other similar information.

Business Information Provided by an SMB.If you register a business on the Services, we also collect your business name, address and location, business photographs and description, working hours and holidays, the services, packages, prices and offers you publish, the staff details you enter (including name, mobile number, role, photograph, working hours and commission rate), the customer records you create, and the payment records you enter for your own bookkeeping. Where you enter details of your staff or your customers, you are responsible for having the right to do so.

All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

Information automatically collected

In Short: Some information - such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics - is collected automatically when you visit our Services.

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services , and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

Information collected through our App

In Short: We collect information regarding your geolocation, mobile device, push notifications, when you use our App.

If you use our App, we also collect the following information:

Each permission listed above is optional, and you may refuse it or withdraw it at any time in your device settings. Refusing a permission only disables the feature that needs it. Our Apps do not request access to your SMS messages, your call logs, your calendar, your microphone or your device sensors, and do not connect to your social media accounts.

This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our App, for troubleshooting and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

Payment information

In Short: We do not store your payment credentials. Our payment gateway handles them.

Where a business purchases a paid subscription, the payment is processed by our authorised payment gateway partner, a payment aggregator regulated by the Reserve Bank of India. We do not collect or store your card number, expiry date, CVV, UPI PIN, bank account number or net banking password. These are entered directly with the payment gateway and its banking partners and are governed by their policies and by the applicable regulations.

What we do store is the record of the transaction: the amount, the date, the plan, the status, a payment reference from the gateway and, where you have set up automatic renewal, a mandate reference. We also store any tax registration number you give us for your invoices.

We will never ask you for your UPI PIN, your card CVV, your net banking password, or a one-time password (OTP). If anyone contacts you claiming to be from StyleBook and asks for these, please do not share them, and report it to us at [email protected] and to your bank.

2. HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We process your information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the fulfillment of our contract with you, compliance with our legal obligations, and/or your consent.

We process your personal information for these purposes in reliance on our legitimate business interests, in order to enter into or perform a contract with you, with your consent, and/or for compliance with our legal obligations. We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) on our Website to access or store information. These are used to keep the Website working and secure, and to understand in aggregate which pages are visited so that we can improve the Website. Most Web browsers are set to accept cookies by default; you can set your browser to remove or reject cookies, but if you do, certain features of the Website may stop working. Our mobile Apps do not use cookies.

6. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice unless otherwise required by law.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting or other legal requirements). No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than thirty six (36) months past the termination of the user's account, except for invoices, payment records and tax documents, which we are required to retain for longer under applicable tax law, and any information needed for an ongoing dispute or investigation.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

7. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. Traffic between our Apps, our Website and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS, access to production data is restricted to those who need it, and we use one-time password (OTP) verification on your mobile number for account access. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cyber-criminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security, and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.

If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify the affected users and the Data Protection Board of India within the timelines required by applicable law.

8. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

In Short: You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time, and you have rights over your personal information under applicable data protection law.

9. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy notice.

10. DO CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?

In Short: Yes, if you are a resident of California, you are granted specific rights regarding access to your personal information.

California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the "Shine The Light" law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year. If you are under 18 years of age, reside in California, and have a registered account with a Service , you have the right to request removal of unwanted data that you publicly post on the Services. We will make sure the data is not publicly displayed on the Services , but please be aware that the data may not be completely or comprehensively removed from all our systems (e.g. backups, etc.).

12. What are children's privacy?

Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.

The Services are intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. StyleBook does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 18, and we do not use anyone's information for tracking, behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising directed at children. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records and close the account.

13. HOW CAN YOU REVIEW, UPDATE, OR DELETE THE DATA WE COLLECT FROM YOU?

You may have the right to request access to the personal information we collect from you, change that information, or delete it in some circumstances. In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, any complaint about your personal information or about this notice may be raised with our Grievance Officer, who is also the person able to answer questions on our behalf about how we process personal data:
